A bottle of honey and its main floral source: showy golden eye
"The Runaways," a healthy, robust colony of honeybees living in a Langstroth hive at La Posada Hotel and Gardens in Winslow. The hotel's large array of solar electric panels provides the bees with shelter from the sun and the wind in an otherwise harsh, high desert landscape.
Several experienced and brand new beekeepers from NAOBA's Flagstaff contingent recently gathered togather at COCO's Restaurant to talk about how to start springtime colonies with nucleus hives and packages. A great time was had by all!
