Earth Day 2017 Talk about honeybees and beekeeping

Picture
Writer and philosopher Aldous Huxley argued that "man is a multiple amphibian." In other words, human nature is multifaceted.

Flagstaff beekeeper Patrick Pynes thinks about honeybees as being similarly multifaceted. In this informal talk, Pynes will discuss and tell stories about honeybees as superorganisms (insects); as semi-domesticated animals (mammals); and as flowering plants, in close relationship with beekeepers and other human beings.

This workshop is part of the City of Flagstaff Earth Day 2017 Celebration and is hosted in partnership by the City of Flagstaff Sustainability Program, Northern Arizona Organic Beekeepers Association, and Flagstaff Foodlink.

This free workshop will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, from 11 AM - 12 PM on the lawn of the County Courthouse (200 N. San Francisco St, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.)
